The final travel blog from 2018 😥
I thought I made a travel post for each city I visited on my trip in Europe this summer, but as I was browsing through my blog the other day, I realized I forgot to write one for the last city! ZURICH!
I don’t know how I managed to leave out Zurich because it’s hands down one of my favorite cities. (But not gonna lie, I don’t remember too much of it at this point hah..)
But, I definitely remember that I loved Zurich and I would say it was a good blend between a small town and a big city. By the main river, the Limmat, there is a good amount of city life and shopping centers that are located right on opposite sides of the river. We definitely spent most of our time walking around the back streets and the smaller allies, however. (After just travelling from Nice and Milan, a more relaxed environment seemed much nicer than another big city!) The smaller streets also had some really interesting shops that were really fun to spend time looking around in!
Overall, Zurich was a pretty relaxed city and there weren’t many tourist-y places or extremely crowded locations. You can probably tell in most of the pictures that there weren’t actually that many people here at the time (I wonder why, because it was July and the weather was really nice)! It was a little rainy, but it seemed like the perfect couple days to spend in Switzerland. We could still eat gelato, so it’s all good. No worries there.
The river was absolutely stunning. The boats and buildings in the background just added to the amazing scene in these photos. It literally looks like the default wallpaper that you see when you buy a computer. It was kinda unreal.
We finished off our lovely trip at a restaurant, watching Switzerland compete in a World Cup Soccer game. Obviously, being in Switzerland, the game was insanely fun to watch and I definitely loved seeing everyone in the room go crazy when their team scored a goal. Oddly enough, this might be the part of the trip I miss the most!
We later watched the sunset by the river and spent some quality time with the geese and swans. They got pretty close to us, so I would definitely consider this quality time. For sure.
😒 ← me when the construction gets in the way of my pictures haha
So that was Zurich!
Thank you so much for reading my post and being patient with me until I finally realized I forgot to do one of my travel blogs! 😂
I hope you enjoyed this post and don’t forget to like and comment if you’ve ever been to Switzerland or plan on going!
I’ll see you on Friday!
