Hello everyone! I definitely owe an apology for not posting since the first day of 2018… I honestly don’t even know how I got so distracted but I’M BACK and I PROMISE I’m going to be posting regularly again!
Also, I’m doing a travel post! It’s definitely been quite a while since my last travel blog and I’m really excited to be doing one again!
My family and I took a trip to San Simeon and Cambria for two days and stayed in a beachfront hotel. I took A LOT of photos so this post is going to be a little long! 🙂
- Day 1: Travelling & Hearst Castle
Here are a few pics from the drive up to Northern California. We took the “scenic route” which didn’t really live up to my expectations 😂
The first thing we did when we arrived was visit Hearst Castle. We took a quick tour for about an hour and then just took a bunch of pictures because the sunset was beautiful. I enjoyed the castle overall and it was really cool getting to learn about William Hearst (who built the castle) and all the celebrities from the time who would visit! Here are the pictures from the castle and the amazing sunset.
(Okay I realize I probably took the same pictures each from like 5 different angles but everything was so pretty I just couldn’t put my camera away 😂)
After we were done at Hearst Castle, we went back to our hotel and had a pretty relaxed night. The hotel was literally right next to the ocean so we definitely fell asleep to the sound of waves crashing!
- Day 2: Sunrise & Elephant Seals
Early the next morning my sister and I decided to get up bright and early to see the sunrise by the ocean. This wasn’t the best idea because the sun rose on the east side and we didn’t really get to see it.. But we still got some nice pictures and a peaceful walk alongside the ocean! 10/10 recommend.
After we ate breakfast at our hotel, we headed up farther north to see the elephant seals! If you look up pictures, you’ll probably see why they call them “elephant” seals. I honestly thought they were really ugly but I guess some people think they’re cute? They were definitely very entertaining.. They would make these really weird noises and flop around the sand.. It was kinda gross and cool at the same time 😂
So those are all the elephant seals! I’m definitely glad we saw them and you should definitely pay a visit if you’re in the area.
Lastly, before we started on our way back home, we walked around a bit in Cambria and went inside a few antique stores. I didn’t take any pictures, but I would definitely recommend walking around the streets a little!
That is all for this trip! I hope you enjoyed this travel post and comment what other types posts you would like me to do! Hopefully I stick with my schedule.. I can definitely see a few Collages coming soon.. hehe
Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you in my next post! 😀
