Brunch at Venice Beach

This past weekend, my sister and I took a day-trip to Santa Monica, California! We took a bus, which was very convenient and super easy, since driving in LA isn’t always the best experience haha..

The first thing we did when we got to Santa Monica, was, ironically, walk to Venice Beach. We found this really nice vegetarian (selectively vegan) breakfast/ brunch place on Abbot Kinney (the main beachfront street). The place is called The Butcher’s Daughter, if you’re interested (which you should be because it was amazing). We definitely loved this place – the decorations were beautiful and the food was even better! My sister had the 12-Grain French Toast, and I had the Acai Bowl with iced coffee. I had eaten acai once before, and I wasn’t a huge fan, but I decided to give it another chance which was a good idea, because I loved it! My sister was also very pleased with her super healthy 12-Grain French Toast. Here’s a picture of our food before we practically inhaled it. (Doesn’t it feel great to eat something that’s super tasty but also really healthy?!)

After we ate, we walked a bit around Abbot Kinney and went into some of the shops which genuinely had some of the coolest things! We walked passed this one shoe store that had high heeled Converse!

I’m most likely going to wear these to my wedding 😀

We also walked passed some chickens! I think people could go into the little barn and pick out their own fresh eggs. It was pretty cool, I think it would be so nice to eat fresh eggs every morning!

Lastly, to conclude our short little trip, we got some vegan ice cream from Salt & Straw. This shop is really well known (understandably – the ice cream was heavenly), and rumor has it that Chris Martin from Coldplay comes here sometimes… 😉

Of course we had to take a picture of the ice cream; what else would we do with it?

Thank you so much for reading my post! I really appreciate you dropping by and I hope that I could give you some good recommendations for your next trip to Venice Beach!

I can’t wait to see you in my next post 😀
