Welcome to the first post of September!
I had a post a while ago on Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany, but I never did a post on Bavaria separately, so I decided to do one today! Bavaria is a very beautiful city; of course it is best known for the castle, but there is a lot that we got to see while waiting for our tour to begin.
Before we start, here are a few pictures from the train ride (we took a day-trip here from Munich)!
First, we should acknowledge the other castles in Bavaria. Everyone mainly focuses on Neuschwanstein (understandably) but there are actually multiple castles that you can tour in the same day.
Basically, we just walked around the same street for a few hours, near where the hike to Neushwanstein begins. We couldn’t really leave the area where the bus dropped us off. At the end of the street, there was a huge lake that was stunning! Some people were even swimming and canoeing in it!
What I loved most about Bavaria was that the city was very decorated. We found this one store that had a million antique Christmas decorations (it was the middle of July)! I wish I could live there just to hang out at that store all day..!
That’s basically all we did in Bavaria before going to the castle! I’ll talk about Neuschwanstein a bit, but if you want to read a more detailed version with a hundred more pictures, you can check out my post here 😀
The hike up to the top was pretty hard, but it was definitely worth it to get the breathtaking view!
We also took a tour inside the castle, which was great but also a lot shorter than I expected. Either way, we were definitely satisfied with our day when we got back to the hotel!
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed and I’ll see you in my next post! 😀
